Kivort Steel, a distributor of steel, stainless steel and aluminum products, is working with Warnerville (New York) town officials on plans for a USD 3.5 million expansion of its plant along Routes 4 and 32. Kivort Steel’s proposed 26,000sq/ft addition did not meet town setback requirements for a corner lot, so Mr Robert Kivort president of Kivort Steel is considering either seeking a variance or altering the plans. He said that the alternatives are being discussed with town officials. The planning board turned down the initial plans for the expansion. Mr Kivort said that the construction is likely to begin this summer and the company currently has 46,000sq/ft of space under roof. |
