In April of this year Baoxin Stainless Steel commissioned a 10,000tpy welded stainless pipe facility at its base in Ningbo city, Zhejiang province, China. Baoxin Stainless is a joint venture between Baosteel, Japan-based Nisshin Steel and other minor investors. The new project will produce stainless welded pipe in outside diameters of 17-76mm and thicknesses of 0.5-3.0mm. Target markets include auto exhaust production and boiler manufacturing as well as the electrical and chemicals industries. This is the first time that Baoxin Stainless, a 600,000tpy cold rolled stainless sheet and coil producer, has entered downstream stainless pipe production. |
